Pre-China Trip Update

Haven't updated this blog in a few weeks. Since then we have received our Visas. We had to change the date of our trip to an arrival of August 25th and a departure of September 26th. The reason for this was because there are a few Chinese holidays during that period which meant that I would not be getting treatments on those days. The frustrating part of this process was that we needed to cancel our plane tickets and buy new ones for that time period. We ended up losing $600 for the cancellation but would have had to pay an additional $1000 if we wanted to make a change to our previous tickets. Unfortunately we have a 12 hour lay over in New York City. Tried to arrange to travel to New York and fly from there, but the price of the tickets were close to $1000 more. Seems the airlines industry has created a win-win situation for themselves during this general traveling uncertainty period.
